Fire crews battled frigid temperatures to douse a three-alarm residential fire in the Rosedale area on Monday.
The fire broke out at 29 Maple Avenue, near Sherbourne Street and Bloor Street East, just before 1 p.m.
A passerby noticed smoke and called emergency crews.
Upon arrival fire fighters couldn’t enter the home due to extreme heat and the fire was promptly upgraded from a two to three-alarm.
They were able to gain entrance and put the fire out just before 2:00 p.m.
There are no reported injuries and crews are searching the home trying to determine the cause.
Due to the extreme cold, salters and sanders were called in and a TTC bus was utilized to provide shelter for fire fighters.
