A 28-year-old woman is under arrest after she allegedly stole a fire truck and led police on a pursuit in Toronto’s east end on Thursday morning.

The suspect managed to enter a fire station at Queen Street East and Woodbine Avenue around 4:45 a.m. and stole a smaller-sized fire truck.

Police say she drove the truck through the front of the station, smashing the bay door in the process.

The woman was eventually caught by officers and arrested after a small pursuit. No injuries were reported.

The stolen vehicle was stopped on Unwin Avenue in the Port Lands approximately six kilometres away from the station.

Melissa Stubbington, 28, faced several charges including breaking and entering, theft of a motor vehicle and mischief.

Police say Stubbington remains in custody and that no court date has been set.
