Toronto police officers say they’re searching for a suspect who is wanted in connection with an arson in the city’s downtown Monday afternoon.
According to a statement issued by the service, officers and firefighters were called to a residential property on Queen Street West near Augusta Avenue at around 1:10 p.m.
It’s alleged a person walked next to a parked vehicle outside of a building and set a fire at the side of the property.
Officers said the vehicle was engulfed in flames a short time later and destroyed.
Hours after the fire, investigators released a photo of the accused. They were described as having a medium-to-large build and they were last seen wearing an orange jacket, a grey hooded sweater, dark-coloured pants and dark-coloured shoes.
Anyone with any information about the incident or the suspect was asked to call 14 Division at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477.
