Four people are dead after a three-alarm fire spread to multiple homes in the Upper Beaches.

The fire broke out at the home on Gainsborough Road near Coxwell and Gerrard on Friday morning and eventually spread to neighbouring homes.

A Toronto Fire chief on scene confirms that the four people were removed from the house where the fire started. Six people were inside the home when the blaze broke out and the two others were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One man reportedly had to jump out of a window on the second floor.

Crews received the call just after 4:30 a.m. and say the second floor of the house was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. Two other homes had to be evacuated and sustained damage from the fire.

Three firefighters have injuries though none are in critical condition. One fell through the floor of the home and sustained minor injuries.

Toronto police tell 680 NEWS they will not reveal details about the victims unless the fire becomes a criminal investigation.

The probe into the cause of the fire is ongoing and officials say there is no sign of anything suspicious or criminal.
